Judge by where the result stays
If you only need one answer, a chat is enough. If you need the same interface and the same material next time, and you want the agent to change them in place, use a Space.
Check these points:
- Interface: can you use a render view, or only read a reply?
- Data and files: was the content written into the Space, and can dev mode show it?
- Services: can the agent call a bound Skill, open the built-in browser, or run a scheduled task?
- Continuity: does the next turn edit this Space, or do you paste the background again?
Chat still has a job
When you create or change a Space, the session is where you state the request. You can start a new chat or create a new task. The difference is that the result of that request should be written back into the Space. Text that stays only in the session does not become a workspace you can reuse.
This page does not compare other products feature by feature
It compares a conversation transcript with a Space you can run. To be added: button-level comparisons with other products. They are not listed here.
FAQ
I already have a long chat history. Do I still create a Space?
Use the history as source material. Ask the agent to write the part you will reuse into a Space, and open that Space in the render view next time.
After the agent changes the Space, is the chat still useful?
Yes. The chat says what to change this time. You check the render view, the data, and the files, not only whether the reply reads smoothly.
Is a template the same as a prompt?
No. A template assembles a Space. A prompt is the request you send the agent, in a session or in a scheduled task.
Next step
Pick a job you keep re-explaining in chat, create an AI Agent Space for it, and put the part that should remain into that Space.
